Why meet Scott?
Scott is an entrepreneur focused on building profitable businesses that solve the usability problems posed by new technologies. As CEO of Omniar and a member of the techstars family, Scott values connecting with the right people and is known to be highly pragmatic with his advice to start-ups. Find out more about Scott’s bio below.
What to expect from a business clinic?
Each business clinic, whether you come as an individual or company of 2-3 people, will run for 1 hour. During this session, feel free to discuss your business idea/plan/model, and you may also want to prepare some questions for Scott. This is not meant to be a review session. Rather, this is a casual chat about your business–be open to what new ideas might come out from this!

As part of the programme, Scott may continue to work with you or your company to develop your idea, or he may put you in touch with other folks he believes you will benefit from connecting with. We won’t promise the same result for every one who signs up for the clinics, but we can promise that the experience will be enriching for both you and Scott.

How much do I pay?
With MDA’s support, this programme is absolutely free. To participate, tell us more about yourself, your ideas and your expectations using this form.

Your form will be forwarded to Scott, who will personally select the companies to meet. JFDI will be in touch to arrange the appointment with you.

For further enquiries on the programme, just drop us an email at info@jfdi.asia. See you soon!

Best regards
The JFDI Team

Scott Rafer’s profile
Scott Rafer has been helping Internet publishers and users take advantage of the latest technologies and trends since 1995. Today, that means delivering services for social publishing and discovery. Scott is CEO of Omniar, as well as co-founder of Mashery and chairman of Winksite.

Omniar provides mobile application developers with technology that lets them identify real-world objects from mobile photographs. A little like augmented reality, a little like Google Goggles, a little like the bar-code scanner RedLaser – Omniar aims to get its technology into apps built by a wide variety of businesses, from retailers to real-estate companies to museums.

As CEO of Omniar, a member of the Techstars family of startups, Scott is looking forward to revolutionising the way location and human experiences are evolving.

As former CEO of Lookery, Scott worked to create an audience-targeting service that supported publishers in makeing money no matter where their users surf. Earlier, he was CEO of MyBlogLog, which was acquired by Yahoo! in early 2007.

Before MyBlogLog, Scott tried to build blog search companies—with Fresher Information in 1998 and with Feedster in 2003. Prior to the first dotcom boom, Rafer led the Internet products group at Kodak Hollywood, worked in investment banking, and graduated from the Management of Technology program at UPenn.

Scott is also a member of the board of directors and co-founder of Mashery, which manages API and developer programs for web services providers, and is chairman of Winksite, which helps publishers large and small assemble active mobile communities around their brands based on the content they already syndicate.
